The words “coming out” has a different meaning for different people. For some men and women who identify as self-acceptance means lesbian or gay, to recognize that they feel the same sex attracted and want to develop sexual relationships with them. For others it’s the people important to know them, they are not heterosexual, it is necessary, a word that they know that you are allowed otherwise verbalize. More importantly for most of it because they want to be honest with friends and is not a secret. Whatever your reasons, the identification as a gay man or lesbian can be a liberating experience, and even euphoric.
Coming out can be a long painful process, or be short, a festive, it really depends on your circumstances and your attitude. Most U.S. companies have laws to protect gays and lesbians, however, many women and men still in the “cabinet” mainly because of fears will react like any other.
